This is the house PCI moved in order to build their acres of parking lots, and new office building. I assume they moved the house instead of demolishing it because they didn’t want to garner more wrath from the local citizenry which was already pissed off due to PCI insisting the need to close a major roadway through Cedar Rapids to build their medical mall.
Now the house sits, hovering above it’s new foundation, with a hole in it’s roof. I assume PCI is trying the tactic of demolition through dilapidation, where they don’t maintain the building they wanted to tear down, until it can be demolished due to structural deficiencies, and not because it got in the way of construction of their parking lots.
If you know differently, please let me know.
Correction: It has been brought to my attention PCI does not own this building, Green Development does. However, that doesn’t change the fact that this house was moved because it got in the way of PCI’s acres of parking lots.
